about

Composed in 1989, Reverie I begins in an introspective style, before darkening in 3'30. This darker section builds up to a discordant flourish at 4'53, before disappearing into silence. Without reaching a full climax, the tension simmers, before subsiding. Relief arrives by way of the first theme returning at 6'20, introspective and gentle again. This piece is dedicated to friend Lois Richards.
